3. If either party has been previously married, they need to supply the exact date of the final divorce decree or the former spouse's date of death.
4. There is a small fee for issuing the license, and it must be paid at the time of application.
5. Once obtained, the marriage license is valid for 60 days, but there is a three-day waiting period before it can be used.
6. The license can be used anywhere within the state but must be returned to Island County for official recording after the marriage ceremony.
